An anchor manufacturing is a steel component used to transmit loads to concrete that can either be cast into concrete or comment into a member of hardened concrete. Headed bolts, hook bolts (J- or L-bolt), and led studs are examples of cast-in anchors. Expanding anchors, undercutting anchors, and sticky anchors are examples of post-installed anchors. Threaded rods, deformed reinforcement bars, or internally thread steel sleeves with exterior deformations are examples of steel components used in adhesive anchors. Anchor manufacturing are frequently employed to join two structural components or to attach a nonstructural object to a structure.

Anchor Materials

  • Zinc-coated steel: The most common and cost-effective material used for anchor manufacturing is regular steel that has been zinc-coated through a galvanizing process. Iron and the galvanizing technique both have a wide range of quality. Steels range in metallurgical quality as well as strength, from mild to high tensile. The method of construction also can significantly affect quality. By carefully selecting folds and reinforcement, the fluke and slide elements of the Rocna use geometry to increase strength beyond that offered by good quality steels.
  • Stainless steel: If the most affordable alternative is not necessary, galvanized anchors can be replaced with ones made of stainless steel because they are more aesthetically beautiful. It also has the advantage of not needing to re-galvanize steel anchors, which usually lose their zinc after several years of frequent use. However, stainless steel is exceedingly expensive. Good quality raw materials are significantly more expensive than conventional steel, and the necessary finishing process raises the cost even more. A stainless steel anchor should cost at least three to five times as much as a galvanized anchor. The “get what you pay for” principle will apply if something is inexpensive.
  • Aluminium: There are numerous aluminum anchors on the market. Generally speaking, aluminum provides more strength for the same weight while also having a bigger volume. Even though an aluminum anchor has the same geometry as its steel equivalent, it won’t be as strong, especially if the steel anchor is made of high tensile steel. Aluminum has a benefit over iron in that it is less expensive than stainless steel and does not need a protective coating like zinc (galvanizing).
  • Titanium: There aren’t many titanium anchors on the market. Generally speaking, this metal offers more advantages than downsides compared to aluminum. Even if procurement is feasible, it is still quite expensive and is not typically a cost-effective solution.
